Week 22 2022
Monday
Yuri still had one day of vacation left. Dinner were In-and-Out style Animal fries with Brussels sprouts with ginger and lime and a vegetarian cheese schnitzel.
Tuesday
Just a regular school and work day. We had lunch from Huismeesters. I had a bun with brie. Yum! For dinner I prepared nasi goreng with peanut sauce for us. I just love fried rice (nasi)!
Wednesday
Paul had a team building outing from work, in which dinner was included. Yuri and I had mini artichoke pies with mushrooms, lemon and dill from the cookbook The Quick Roasting Tin. They were delicious, but it wasn’t enough so I also made us an omelet with mushrooms and bacon.
Thursday
I prepared cauliflower with cheese sauce, mustard and kale from the cookbook The Quick Roasting Tin for dinner and it was delicious.
Friday
On Saturday Yuri would be doing his confirmation and afterwards we would be hosting a barbecue at our home. So I prepared some of the items for the barbecue on Friday. I made red beets Russian salad, peanut sauce and triple ginger cookies.
At the end of the afternoon we went to festival TREK in Griftpark. We went together with a friend and we had all sorts of delicious food. It’s a festival with (lots of) foodtrucks and some music and entertainment. We love it! The vibe is so good. We tasted so many delicious things. Yuri and I loved the sushi from Yumy the most. We also had chorizo hot dogs, a sloppy joe, nachos and a bun with pulled chicken.
Saturday
In the morning I prepared Bakewell-cupcakes with raspberries from The Sweet Roasting Tin. And also custard vla which I used in a trifle. I made a trifle with layers of custard vla, cranberrycompote, dulche de leche, klop klop and Bastogne cookies.
In the afternoon was Yuri’s conformation in the Catharijne cathedral. Afterwards we had a barbecue in our backyard for family. Chicken kabobs and sausages on the barbecue, served with baguette, sauces and the salad I had prepared. The salad and peanut sauce went fast, everybody loved them. Dessert were the cookies, cupcakes and trifle which I had prepared. All 3 were also loved and were almost completely gone.
Sunday
It was Pentecost and we had a quiet day at home. It was raining almost the whole day. We ordered dinner at BurgerMe.
So a week with a fun festival, barbecue and Yuri’s confirmation.
