About Me

Cosette with gluhwein, with the Christmas market behind her and the Kolner Dom

Hi, I’m Cosette and I’m a self-proclaimed foodie. I love good food and I love to prepare it. There is lots of great food and I love all sorts of cuisines, from Dutch cuisine to American, Italian or Indonesian. I like to variate and make a lot of fusion dishes. I aim to present a new dish to my family each day.

My passion for food was there long before my love for cooking and baking. About 14 years ago I went from working 4 days a week to being full time at home. I had more time and tried out a new recipe almost every day. Those new recipes varied from cakes to one pan meals to bread and casseroles, there is no limit to what I tried out.

A little bit more about me personal, I’m 47, married and I have a 16-year-old son. I studied history and have a MA in the history of International Relations. You know something that has absolutely nothing to do with food.

My son was 2 when I started on this baking and cooking journey. He loves to bake and cook together with me and along the years my husband and I tought him how to bake and prepare meals himself.

In 2013 I started Cosette is Cookin’. At first as just a Facebook page on the one hand and on the other hand offering meals and catering through Thuisgekookt. This way I met a lot of nice people and was present on several events.

However in 2020 the catering and meal offering part of Thuisgekookt stopped. That’s when I expanded Cosette is Cookin’ further to a website and not just a Facebook page.

On this blog I share recipes I try out, meals I develop, reviews of restaurants and food events I visit, the origins of dishes and explanation blogs on food products.

Furthermore if you want to work with me, you can contact me through my Contact page.
