Week 45 2022 in Food Photos

Last week was already week 45 of 2022! The year is coming to an end soon. We had some more take out than originally planned, but luckily also homecooked meals. Birthday parties on Saturday and a visit to Scheveningen on Sunday.

We had a traditional Dutch food on Monday, namely Hete Bliksem with lard cutlets from the cookbook Aan Tafel from Croma. With the colder weather it’s perfect comfort food.

Tuesday

Yuri had an day off from school and a friend of his came to play with him. We ordered BurgerMe in the evening, since we wanted to have their burgers.

Wednesday

A quiet day, Paul’s is to the office on Wednesday and Yuri has a long school day on Wednesday. So I’m home alone working, which is fine. Dinner this day was rice with spicy plumsauce, broccoli, mushrooms and an omelet.

Thursday

In the afternoon we all got a booster for Covid. Afterwards there wasn’t enough time to prepare the dinner I had planned, so we got take out from Aphrodite Gyros & More. They have delicious Greek food. Yuri and I had a kapsalon, Paul had the souvlaki plate and a friend the gyros plate.

Friday

At the end of the afternoon I went to the city center to do some shopping. I got some new tea flavors and some other things. Dinner was another Dutch traditional comfort food, perfect for the colder months, namely hachee. Which is stewed beef. The hachee with potatoes and red cabbage is from the cookbook Aan Tafel from Croma.

Saturday

In the morning I baked a bananabread from the cookbook Bananabread as a gift for a friend. She had her birthday that day and I know she loves bananabread. So a perfect gift.

We had 2 birthday parties on Saturday. In the afternoon we went to Amsterdam for the first party. We took with us another friend. Our birthday friend had prepared a delicious pecan pie. On the way home we stopped for dinner at KFC. Then we went to the second birthday party in Utrecht, which was fun.

Sunday

We had a lazy Sunday morning. For lunch Paul and I prepared an uitsmijter (another Dutch traditional food) with rösti from the cookbook Van Piepers to Pasta from Blue Band. Yuri had requested this. In the afternoon Paul and I went to the Christmas Village Scheveningen, which is a large Christmas store, that I just had to see for myself. Afterwards we had a coffee and hot choc at Oma Toos. Dinner was a pizza with plumsauce, bell pepper and mushrooms.

So this week had a lot of traditional Dutch comfort food, take out and birthdays.
