Review: Restaurant Aphrodite Gyros & More

So instead of a restaurant review twice a month, I’m only on my second restaurant review this year. Was a bit to enthusiastic in promising this last March, but here’s a review of Restaurant Aphrodite in Utrecht Lunetten. It’s located in the small shopping center in the area. About 10 minutes walking distance from our home.

You can sit down at this place or order take out. Due to restrictions in place this year and last year we’ve only gotten take out or delivery from them.

The owner of the restaurant, Shammie, is friendly and makes the most delicious Greek food.

What to order

Aphrodite is a Greek restaurant, so all sorts of delicious Greek dishes can be ordered here. For lunch they have several different Greek style grilled cheese sandwiches on the Aphrodite restaurant menu. For instance combinations of feta and/or olives with Beemster cheese. Beemster is a Dutch cheese brand. Pita’s are also available for lunch, such as a Pita gyros or a Pita grilled vegetables.

For dinner they offer several menu’s such as the gyros menu and sousouki menu. Salads are also available, such as a Haloumi salad or a Souvlaki salad. We love to order the Gyros kapsalon or on Monday the Moussaka. Of course you can also order a simple portion of fries or cole slaw. The turbo sauce, they’re own homemade sauce, is delicious. As is their Tzaziki.

In the dessert department I simply love the Oreo cheesecake and Paul loves the Baklava. They also sell Montgomery’s ice cream and Greek yogurt. They have several bottles of wine on the menu.
