Week 14 2022 started with Yuri getting his dental braces and ended with sitting in the sun on a terrace. During the week it rained every day and some days it was rain all day long. Each day we had a home cooked meal for dinner, but on a few days we had lunch out-of-doors.

Monday

First thing in the morning Yuri had his dental braces. Because of this for dinner we made Cauliflower Soup for Yuri from the cookbook Snufje Zout & Snufje Geluk. Which was purated, he couldn’t chew those first few days. We had Vega Chicken Salad with Grapes for dinner. It rained the whole day.

Tuesday

It rained a large part of the day. For lunch we had a pulled chicken bun from De Huismeesters. Dinner was Tomato-Lentilsoup with Curry and Coconut from the cookbook Simpel from Ottolenghi. We purated the soup for Yuri.

Wednesday

I went shopping in Amsterdam with a friend. Since she loves apple pie, we had to go to Café Winkel 43. She loved the apple pie just as much as we did. We had lunch at Toastable with a Legend Toasti, Tuna Melt Toasti and Apple Chai Tea. We ended the afternoon with a Chai Tea Latte from Starbucks. I got cheesecake from Lucy’s to go for Paul and Yuri. For Yuri the Strawberry Cheesecake and for Paul the White Chocolate Cake with Cranberries. For dinner we had Broccolini with Soy Sauce, Garlic and Peanuts with rice and a boiled egg on the side. Recipe is from the cookbook Simpel from Ottolenghi. Yuri had Cauliflower Soup.

Thursday

The rain poured down hard the whole day. Dinner was a Chili Burger with Fries from the cookbook Heerlijke Hamburgers from Anne Wilson.

Friday

Finally a day with not a lot of rain. For dinner we had Vegetarian Fried Noodles with a Sunny Side-Up Egg.

Saturday

We went on a Spring Cruise starting and ending in Lisse. On the cruise we had a piece of apple pie with coffee and tea. We had hail just before we boarded, and right before the end of the boat tour. After the cruise we drove to Katwijk aan Zee, passing the Keukenhof, where the parking lot was full. We had lunch in Katwijk aan Zee near the beach at Kattukkerzandt. Dinner was a Vegatarian Burger, Broccolini and Mashed Potatoes.

Sunday

A beautiful sunny day. Finally! In the morning I baked Brioches with Chocolate, Nuts and Raisins and a Loaded Jalapenõ Popper Beer Bread. Both delicious. Recipes will be on the blog soon. We had lunch at Le Journal with a friend. I had a Club Sandwich, Paul a Twaalf-Uurtje and the friend had an Uitsmijter. In the afternoon we went to Ottenhome and had something to drink and bitterballen. It was nice to sit on the terrace in the sun. Dinner was a Vegetable Burger with Chutney and Cucumbers.
