Week 15 2022 in Food Photos

Yuri went camping with his class, so the first 3.5 days of week 15 2022 Paul and I were at home, just the two of us. We had beautiful weather except for one day. At the end of the week we went away for a long Easter weekend.

Week 15 2022

Monday

In the morning we dropped Yuri off at school and waved his class goodbye as they biked to camp. In the evening we had a Sushi Bun for dinner.

Tuesday

Since this day would be the most sunny day of the whole week, we decided to spend the afternoon on a terrace in the sun. We started with pancakes for lunch at restaurant Hendrik in Vreeland. Then something to drink at Ottenhome on the Loosdrechtse Plassen. In the evening we had a borrelplank at De Egelshoek for dinner.  

Wednesday

For lunch I made us Orange Above, a recipe perfect to make at Kingsday. Dinner was a Chicory Casserole with Pecans and Cheese from the cookbook Ovenbijbel.

Thursday

Yuri came back home again in the afternoon. A tired Yuri and happy parents. Made two more Kingsday recipes: Crème Brulee with Carrots and Orange and a Kingsday Cake & Cookie. Both delicious! Recipes will be on the blog soon. For dinner we had a Spinach-Ricotta Lasagna from the cookbook Ovenbijbel.

Friday

In the morning we went with Paul to Etten-Leur. While Paul was at work, Yuri and I first sat at the McDonald’s close by and then at De Hoge Neer pancake restaurant, where we had lunch with nachos and a pancake. Paul had an Easter lunch at the office.

In the afternoon we drove to Brielle in Zuid-Holland. We stayed at Fletcher Hotel De Zalm. First Paul and I had drinks at the terrace of the Poortwachter. Then all 3 of us had a 3-course dinner at our hotel.

Saturday

The day started with a delicious breakfast buffet, then a visit to Historical Museum Den Briel. All about the Eighty Years’ War. Lunch at De Kogeloven, climbing De Stenen Baak and ice cream at De Ijsboerin. We got our dinner from the grocery store: salad and sushi. In the evening Paul and I had a milkshake and ice tea at De Brielsche Chick.

We drove a tulip route on Goeree-Overflakkee (the island below Voorne-Putten), had an ice cream at ‘t-Hoad, something to drink on the terrace of Hotel Restaurant “Lely” and dinner in the evening at De Brielsche Chick.

So a sun and terrace filled week with delicious food again.
