We’re already in September, but finally here’s week 2 2022. Still in lockdown back then. The week was filled with homecooked meals, homecooked desserts and take out.
Week 2 2022
A friend came over for dinner. I made a porkburger with apple from the cookbook Heerlijke Hamburgers. I also prepared an amarettotrifle as a dessert, which everyone loved.
We had a pulled chicken bun from Huismeesters for lunch. Leftovers as dinner. In the evening we enjoyed an apple pie drink with a cinnamon roll. The recipe comes from the magazine Feest from Uit Pauline’s Keuken. It was delicious!
We ordered burgers from BurgerMe for dinner. I prepared the larger part of a strawberry cake roll with anise cream.
I finished the strawberry cake roll with anise cream. We had it as a dessert in the evening, when a friend came over. We all loved it. For dinner I prepared potato kroketjes from my Indonesian cookbook. I served them with green beans and an omelet.
We got Chinese take out for dinner from Asian Tower. Always a good idea.
I prepared part of a coconut-peach cake. I always bake one or more cakes for my parents’ birthday and they get to choose what I bake.
For dinner I prepared a carrot stamppot. I made mashed potatoes with carrots, bacon, cheese, ginger syrup, garlic, pepper and small frankfurters. Not the traditional way of preparing hutspot, but so delicious. True comfort food.
We delivered the coconut-peach cake at my parents’ house and already celebrated my father’s birthday.
Dinner was fried rice with sweet and sour cucumber from my Indonesian cookbook.
So that was a week with lots of desserts.
