This week Yuri turned 11! We celebrated at home with several cakes and a few friends of Yuri. In the weekend we visited both grandparents with cake. So Yuri had a fun birthday week, although without a party, that’s how our week 11 of 2021 went.
Week 11 2021
Monday
On Monday we had a pulled chicken bun and brownie for lunch from De Huismeesters.
Tuesday
Finally cooked us dinner again, I made Mexican sweet potato casserole. Which was delicious, the recipe comes from the cookbook Ovenbijbel.
Wednesday
Paul served all day at a voting office, since it was election day in the Netherlands. Yuri and I ordered BurgerMe for dinner. Paul ate something at Haarzuilens.
Thursday
Yuri’s birthday, he chose pancakes for breakfast. On his birthday he’ll always gets to choose what we eat that day. Yuri had prepared a zebra cake in the morning before going to school. The recipe comes from the Kinder bakboek from Laura Kieft. I made an orzo pie with coconut and lemon from Het Complete Pastaboek. The day before I had prepared a Glazed Chocolate Bundt Cake. Which Yuri picked from the cookbook Modern Baking from Donna Hay. We also had mini tompouce from the HEMA with a picture of Yuri on them. A tradition we have each year, a tompouce with a picture of Yuri on them. For dinner Yuri picked spaghetti with red sauce and small sausages.
Friday
For dinner we had a casserole with sweet potatoes and squash from the Ovenbijbel cookbook.
Saturday
We started the day with scrambled eggs with bacon, spinach and ricotta cheese. We went to my parents this day. My sister came with her daughters and we celebrated Yuri’s 11th birthday. My mom made macaroni, since that’s Yuri’s favorite dinner. She also made a salad with pasta and cashews, which goes perfect with the macaroni.
Sunday
On Sunday we went to Paul’s parents for Yuri’s birthday. We had a fun afternoon. For dinner we had take out Chinese food, something Yuri loves.
This week I published 4 new blogs: Stuffed Scrambled Eggs, Hawaiian Pizza, Aromatic Ghee Rice and Egg Souffle.
