Review: Hop & Stork Utrecht

The first review of a restaurant or lunchroom this year. Hop & Stork is a pastry chain. The review is about Hop and Stork in Utrecht, not the whole chain. The shop is in the city center of Utrecht, on the corner of Lijnmarkt and Zadelstraat, not that far away from the iconic Dom Tower. Last year I reviewed Het Oude Tolhuys and Aphrodite Gyros & More.

You can take away their pastries or sit down at the shop. They have a small terrace and several places to sit down inside. It’s a chocolate heaven!

What to Order

The shop has an underline with their name of chocolate, coffee and pastry. That’s indeed what’s on their menu and it’s simply delicious.

They have bonbons, vegan chocolate, small cakes, chocolate bars, chocolate truffles, coffee, ice cream and chocolate letters. All beautifully made and presented. You can get a hazelnut chocolate bar or a salted caramel gold bar. Or in the truffles section coffee caramel flavored and coconut flavored ones. Ruby chocolate letters, caramel ones and milk chocolate letters are on offer. Their small cakes are divine, think Yuzu forest fruit or Arabica delight.

With Easter, Valentine’s Day, Christmas and Sinterklaas they offer a special collection customized for that holiday.

They offer tea, coffee and hot chocolate at the shop. These aren’t for take-out, the rest is.

What Else

Normally they offer workshops, right now there aren’t any.

Think a chocolate easter egg workshop, a bonbon workshop or barista workshop and more.

Hop & Stork Has Such Delicious Goodies

So delicious I want to come back again and again. The ambiance is great and the experience top-notch every time.
